Hard seasons don’t mean God has forgotten you. Sometimes, they’re where He meets you the most.
Let’s be honest:
Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.
You do your best to live right.
You pray, you trust God, you try to follow Him.
But then the storm hits. The diagnosis comes. The loss happens. The prayers go unanswered.
And quietly, painfully, the question creeps in:
“Why is this happening to me?”
“God… I thought You loved me?”
If you’ve ever whispered that in the dark — you’re not alone.
I’ve been there too.

You’re Not Being Punished
The first thing I want to tell you is this:
God isn’t punishing you.
That thought can sneak into our minds when life gets heavy.
But hear me—God’s love isn’t conditional on how “good” you’ve been.
He’s not keeping score. He’s not sitting up in heaven waiting to zap you the moment you mess up.
In John 16:33, Jesus said:
“In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Trouble isn’t proof that you’re doing something wrong.
Sometimes, it’s just proof that you’re human.

Good People Still Face Hard Things
Think of the people in the Bible who were closest to God:
Job lost everything—family, health, home—without cause.
Joseph was sold by his own brothers and wrongly imprisoned.
David, a man after God’s own heart, spent years running for his life.
Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned—all while serving Jesus.
Jesus Himself was betrayed, tortured, and crucified—though He was perfect.
Being faithful doesn’t mean you’ll be spared from suffering.
But it does mean God will never let you walk through it alone.

We Live in a Broken World
Pain exists because this world is not as it should be.
Sin broke the design. And with that brokenness came disease, injustice, loss, and heartbreak.
God never promised a life without pain—but He did promise to redeem every bit of it.
Romans 8:28 says:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”
Even the hard things.
Even the things that don’t make sense right now.

Sometimes the Hard Stuff Grows Our Faith
I know this might sound strange… but some of the closest moments I’ve had with God happened when I was hurting.
It wasn’t in the mountaintop victories.
It was in the valley—when I had nothing left to lean on except Him.
When the prayers were messy. When the answers didn’t come.
When all I could say was, “God, please don’t leave me.”
And He didn’t.
Pain has a way of peeling back everything false and bringing us face to face with what’s real.
And what’s real is this:
Even in suffering, God is still good.
Even in silence, He is still near.
Even in heartbreak, He still has a plan.

You Can Be Honest with God
If you’re walking through something right now that you don’t understand—tell Him.
Don’t hold it in. Don’t pretend to be strong.
God isn’t afraid of your questions, your doubts, or your tears.
He already knows. And He loves you anyway.
The Bible is full of people who cried out to God in confusion and pain.
And you know what? He met them there.
He’ll meet you too.

Final Thoughts: Hold On, He’s Not Done
I won’t give you a cliché.
I won’t tell you to smile through your pain or pretend it doesn’t hurt.
But I will tell you this:
God sees what you’re going through.
He hasn’t forgotten you.
He’s not finished yet.
You might not understand why this is happening now…
but one day, you might look back and see that even this had purpose.
In the meantime, hold on.
Let Him carry you.
Because even in the hardest chapters—God is still writing a good story.
