Sometimes, God speaks quietly… other times, He speaks in ways you can’t ignore.
I wasn’t looking for a “sign.”
I wasn’t fasting or praying for a deep revelation.
I was just living — going through the motions, busy, distracted, doing all the usual things.
But somewhere deep down, I felt a nudge.
You know the kind — not loud, not dramatic… but something inside you just won’t settle.
You hear a verse that sticks.
You get that gut feeling.
You sense God gently whispering, “Pay attention.”
And I almost brushed it off.
Almost.
But I’m so glad I didn’t — because not long after, everything changed.

The Nudge I Almost Ignored
It started small.
A verse I’d heard before — one I usually skim right past — kept showing up in conversations, sermons, and even random social posts.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion…” — 1 Peter 5:8
At first, I thought, Okay, maybe it’s just a coincidence.
But it kept happening.
Then came the dreams.
Nothing terrifying — just strange enough to stir something in me.
I felt uneasy. Like something was coming I wasn’t ready for.
God wasn’t shouting.
But He was speaking.
Sometimes the Holy Spirit taps on your heart before the storm hits — not to scare you, but to prepare you.

The Warning Became Reality
A few weeks later, the thing I didn’t see coming — happened.
A person I trusted let me down.
Something I was building crumbled.
And emotionally, I spiraled.
But even in the shock of it, I remembered:
God warned me.
Not to condemn. Not to say “I told you so.”
But because He loves me.
Looking back, I realized He’d been trying to get my attention for weeks.
Through Scripture. Through conviction. Through a holy discomfort.

God’s Warnings Are Always Rooted in Love
This is what I’ve learned:
When God warns you, it’s never to shame you — it’s to protect you.
He’s not trying to ruin your plans.
He’s trying to rescue you from pain you don’t see coming.
And even when you don’t fully understand what He’s showing you, the warning is a gift.
A sign that He sees further than you do.
A reminder that you are not navigating this life alone.

How to Tell When God Is Trying to Warn You
Maybe you’ve felt it before:
- A verse you can’t get out of your head
- A message or sermon that hits too close to home
- A restlessness in your spirit you can’t explain
- A closed door that you wanted so badly to open
- A sense that something is “off,” even if you can’t name it
Don’t ignore that.
Take it to God. Ask Him, “Is this You trying to show me something?”
Because He will lead you gently when your heart is willing to listen.

What I’d Tell You Now
If I could sit with you across the table, coffee in hand, I’d tell you this:
God loves you too much to stay silent.
He doesn’t always speak through loud signs.
Sometimes it’s a verse. A dream. A tension in your spirit. A door that won’t open.
Listen.
Because when the warning comes, it’s not punishment —
It’s protection.
And sometimes, it’s the very thing that keeps you standing when the storm hits

🌿 Final Thoughts: He’s Still Speaking
Maybe this is your warning.
Maybe this article is the nudge you didn’t know you needed.
Not to scare you — but to get your attention.
Ask God today:
“Is there something You want me to see?
Something You’re trying to protect me from?”
His answer may come as a whisper.
Or a verse.
Or a quiet “no” you don’t want — but desperately need.
Whatever it is, remember this:
He loves you enough to speak up before the fall.
And even if the storm comes…
He’ll be with you in it.
