“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
Have you ever felt so hurt that you didn’t even know what to pray?
Maybe it was something someone said… or didn’t say. Maybe you were betrayed by someone you trusted. Or maybe life just took a sharp, unexpected turn, and it left you standing there wondering, “God, where were You in all of this?”
If that’s you today—if you’re carrying pain that feels heavy, confusing, or lonely—this article is for you. Because there’s something God wants you to hear right now: He sees you. He hasn’t forgotten you. And He’s not finished with your story.

God Doesn’t Minimize Your Pain
One of the biggest lies we often tell ourselves is, “I shouldn’t still be hurting over this.” But friend, God doesn’t rush your healing.
He doesn’t say, “Get over it.” He says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
God honors your tears. He counts them (Psalm 56:8). He knows the wounds that are still healing. And even when others don’t understand what you’re going through—He does.

You’re Not Alone in This
The enemy loves to whisper, “No one understands. You’re all alone.” But the truth is, you’re not.
Jesus Himself was betrayed. He was mocked, abandoned, misunderstood—even by those closest to Him. He knows what it feels like to be hurt deeply. And He promises, “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
You may feel isolated, but you are never alone. You are surrounded by God’s presence even when you can’t feel it.

God Heals in His Timing
We want healing now. But God often works through a process.
Think of a broken bone. It doesn’t heal overnight. The body works in stages, knitting it back together slowly but surely. In the same way, God is gently rebuilding your heart. Some wounds need time. And that’s okay.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3

Forgiveness Doesn’t Mean You Weren’t Hurt
Let’s be honest—forgiveness is hard. Especially when the person who hurt you never apologized, or maybe didn’t even realize the damage they caused.
But forgiveness isn’t saying, “It was okay.” It’s saying, “I’m choosing to trust God to deal with this.” It’s about freeing your heart from the bitterness that tries to take root.
Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting. It means allowing God to carry what’s too heavy for you.

God Will Use Your Pain for Purpose
This might sound impossible right now, but it’s true: Nothing you’ve walked through is wasted.
God promises in Romans 8:28 that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him. Even this. Even your hurt.
You might not see the purpose yet. But down the road, you’ll comfort someone else with the same comfort God gave you. Your story isn’t over. In fact, God is still writing it.

Final Thoughts: God Knows, God Cares, God Heals
If you’re carrying a heavy heart today, I want to leave you with this simple truth:
God is not distant from your pain. He is right in the middle of it with you. Whisper His name. Lean into His arms. Let Him start the healing.
You don’t have to figure it all out. You just have to be willing to let Him walk with you through it
