Big decisions have a way of shaking us—don’t they? Maybe you’re standing at a crossroads right now. A job offer. A relationship. A move. A risk.
And in your heart, you’re wondering: “Is this really what God wants for me?” Before you move forward, pause. God has a way of guiding us, often in quiet, subtle ways.
This might be the moment He’s trying to reach you—before you step into something that could shape your life for years to come.

Every Open Door Isn’t from God
It’s easy to think that every open door is a blessing. But not every opportunity is God’s will. Some doors are distractions.
Others are detours. Just because something feels exciting or promising doesn’t mean it’s from the Lord. Satan can open doors too—ones that look shiny but lead to heartbreak.
That’s why the Bible reminds us in Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” Pause and ask: Does this align with God’s Word? Will this draw me closer to Him—or pull me away?

God Speaks in Peace, Not Pressure
If you’re feeling anxious, rushed, or overwhelmed, that could be your sign to wait. God doesn’t pressure us. His voice brings peace, not panic.
Isaiah 30:21 says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
That still, small voice inside—that nudge in your spirit—that’s often God’s way of saying, “Wait. Listen. Trust Me.” Don’t ignore it. Your uneasiness might be divine protection.

Wise Counsel Confirms What God is Saying
Are godly people in your life telling you to be cautious? Do mentors or spiritual friends feel uneasy about your decision?
That’s not random. God often confirms His warnings through others.
Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, “In the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Don’t make a big decision in isolation.
Bring it into the light. Ask people who know God and know you. Their hesitation may be heaven’s way of slowing you down for your own good.

Closed Doors Are Kindness in Disguise
If something you were hoping for suddenly falls apart, don’t rush to call it failure. It might be grace.
It might be God stepping in to save you from something you can’t yet see.
Sometimes, His greatest mercy is in what He doesn’t allow. That job you didn’t get. That relationship that didn’t work out. That opportunity that slipped away. He sees further than you can. Trust Him with the “no.”

God’s Timing Is Always Better Than Yours
When the pressure is high and the timeline is short, remember this: God is never late.
Even if it feels like you’re missing out or falling behind, God’s plan unfolds with perfect timing.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” You don’t have to make something happen just because you’re afraid of missing your chance. If it’s truly from God, it will still be there when He says it’s time.

Final Thoughts: Stop. Pray. Wait.
Before you make that big decision, give God room to speak. Don’t rush past His voice. Don’t silence that inner caution.
He may be warning you. Or He may be preparing you. Either way, He’s faithful.
So take a breath. Take it to prayer. And trust that the God who sees the end from the beginning is guiding you with love.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
