The Signs Are All Around Us—Are We in the End Times?

Have you ever looked around at everything happening in the world and quietly wondered, “Is this it? Are we in the end times?”

Wars. Earthquakes. Moral decline. Division. A deep heaviness in the air.

For many believers—especially those who have read Scripture closely—these signs feel eerily familiar. You’re not alone in wondering. In fact, Jesus Himself told us to “watch and be ready.” So how do we know if what we’re seeing is really the beginning of the end?

Let’s walk through this together with open hearts, guided by Scripture and not fear.

What Did Jesus Say About the End Times?

When the disciples asked Jesus about the end of the age, He didn’t leave them (or us) in the dark. In Matthew 24, Jesus described the signs:

Wars and rumors of wars

Nation rising against nation

Famines and earthquakes

Persecution of believers

False prophets deceiving many

The love of many growing cold

He also said, “These are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:8)

In other words, the chaos isn’t random—it’s part of a larger story unfolding. Jesus told us what to look for not to scare us, but to prepare us.

Are We Seeing These Signs Today?

Let’s be honest: it’s hard to deny that much of what Jesus described is happening now. Here are a few things to consider:

Global unrest: Conflict, war, and division have become constant news headlines.

Natural disasters: Earthquakes, fires, and floods are increasing in frequency and intensity.

Moral confusion: Values once rooted in truth are now shifting, even within the Church.

Cold hearts: People are more isolated, angry, and suspicious than ever before.

Persecution: In many parts of the world, believers are paying a price for their faith.

But here’s the key: none of this means we should panic. Jesus never told us to live in fear of the signs. He told us to watch and stay awake.

Why God Allows These Signs

When things feel like they’re falling apart, it’s easy to ask, “Why would God let this happen?” But Scripture gives us the answer.

2 Peter 3:9 reminds us:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise… He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

The signs are not proof that God has forgotten us. They are proof that He is calling us. He’s using every shaking, every moment of discomfort, to stir hearts and bring people back to Him.

If you’re reading this right now, it’s not by accident. God is reaching out—through the noise, the fear, the headlines—to say: “Come back to Me.”

What Should We Be Doing Right Now?

Instead of scrolling the news and feeling helpless, Jesus gave us a different mission:

Watch and pray. (Luke 21:36) Stay spiritually alert. Ask God for discernment.

Preach the Gospel. (Mark 13:10) Share the hope of Jesus while there’s still time.

Live ready. (Matthew 25:13) Make sure your heart is right before God.

The enemy wants us distracted, discouraged, and divided. But God is calling us to be awake, anchored, and aware. Now more than ever, the world needs light—and that light lives in us.

Final Thoughts: Don’t Let Fear Steal Your Hope

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes. Watching the world spin in chaos can shake even the strongest believer. But this truth remains: God is still on the throne.

He is not panicked.
He is not surprised.
He has not abandoned us.

If you belong to Jesus, you don’t need to be afraid of the end times—you can look up in expectation. Because the return of Christ isn’t something to dread—it’s something to long for.

So, are we in the end times?

Only God knows the exact day and hour. But the signs remind us to stay close to Him.

Now is the time to wake up, speak up, and lift our eyes to the One who holds the future.

Because the world may be shaking, but our God is unshakable.
