Today’s Blessings – August 23, 2025 | Day 235 of 365

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27

A Gift of Peace Unlike Any Other

When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples, He knew they were about to face uncertainty, fear, and sorrow. Yet, He promised them something the world could never offer: His peace.

This peace is not the absence of problems or the guarantee of an easy life, but the presence of Christ Himself in the middle of every storm.

The world’s version of peace often depends on circumstances—financial security, good health, or smooth relationships. But Jesus gives us a peace that transcends circumstances.

It’s a peace that remains when the bank account is low, when the diagnosis is uncertain, and when life feels overwhelming. His peace is rooted not in what’s happening around us, but in Who is within us.

Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled

Fear and anxiety may knock on the door of our hearts daily. But Jesus gently reminds us: “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Notice that it’s a command, but also a reassurance.

He knows our hearts will try to drift toward fear. That’s why He gives us His Spirit to guard our hearts and minds with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

When trouble comes—and it will—we are not left alone. His peace carries us through the valley, steadies our steps, and anchors us when everything feels unsteady.

Walking in His Peace Today

To walk in Jesus’ peace, we must continually surrender our worries at His feet. Prayer, worship, and meditating on His promises shift our focus from fear to faith. His peace is not earned but received as a gift—free, unshakable, and everlasting.

Today, take a moment to breathe in His presence and exhale your fears. Let His words sink into your heart: “My peace I give you.” You don’t have to strive for it. Simply receive it.

Prayer

Lord Jesus,

thank You for the gift of Your peace that the world cannot give.

In moments of fear, help me rest in Your promises and trust that You are with me.

Guard my heart and mind from anxiety, and fill me with Your perfect peace today.

Amen!
